Competition Format & Rules

The ‘Cue Up’ competition format is designed in a way to put all registered competitors on a relatively even playing field. That is, to give EVERYONE an opportunity to win the cash!

There will be three days of ‘point play’ and a fourth day of finals. Each day of play starts at 11am sharp! And will finish around 7pm. An auction of ‘goodies’ will be held at 10am on day four of play, followed by the finals series.

*World Eight-Ball Pool Playing Rules Apply*

Points will be awarded for each game played. Points will be awarded for both the win and the loss. Each win will receive 30 points, whilst a loss will still get 20 points for playing, and 1 point for each of his/her balls potted.

Games will be played over three days at seven different venues. A new ‘draw’ will be run at the end of each days play for the following day. This will ensure that each player has different opponents, venue or table to play each day.

Players assigned to a table will be required to referee other games on that table whilst not competing themselves.

At the end of three days competition, the 16 highest point scorers will ‘play-off’ in the finals campaign on the fourth and final day of the competition. The finals campaign will be a knock-out competition, each match based on a best of three racks format. There will be a one hour intermission before the final two competitors will play out the Grand Final, being a best of five racks match.

Presentations will take place shortly after the winner has been decided, followed by an ‘after party’ at the Starlight’s Hideout Tavern, Longreach.
